Build and Order: Diesel Heater

    This Dometic diesel heater works wonderfully in our Geist caravans. It fits straight into the existing ducting outlets. Mostly fitted to one outlet in the lounge area, it is strong enough to heat the whole van comfortably. For example while writing this I am at St Helens, Tasmania in May and the current temperature outside is around 5 degrees (early morning) and the temperature inside our XK660 (biggest van) is 19.6 degrees. No 240 power is needed, just 12v and diesel. It runs at .10 - .28 hours per litre. A 10 litre tank comes with it that mounts in the front boot. There is a slight hum noise but nothing like a reverse cycle aircon. The gas filled aircons don't work as effectively under 8 degrees. Great value and great in the outback too! For those cold mornings you can set the heater to come on automatically nice and early so when you get up the van is toasty warm, even set it when you go out and come back later in the day for happy hour.
